She accomplished her BS in Sociology at Howard College, her MS within the Administration of Justice at American College, and each her MA in Political Science and PhD in Criminology on the College of Maryland, Faculty Park. Her areas of analysis embrace race and crime, juvenile justice, and policing. She has authored and co-authored books, has peer-reviewed articles and guide chapters, and has served as lead editor for the Encyclopedia of Race and Crime (2009).
